About Hermes Construction
CompanyHermes Construction Co. was founded in December 1995
by Erik Hermes. Since then, Hermes Construction Co. has provided complete design / build, and construction management
services.
Erik Hermes
From 1976 to 1980, Erik worked in the construction
industry during summer breaks, while in high school, for his father’s company R.A. Hermes Inc. From 1980
to 1985 attended the University of Cincinnati as an Operation Management Major; Erik was responsible for estimating the job
costs and overseeing the construction of commercial construction projects. In 1985 to 1995 Erik was responsible for all
operations and expansion of the R.A. Hermes, Inc. properties totaling 500,000 sq ft. In 1995, Erik founded Hermes Construction
Co. This construction company was responsible for performing the expansion of any existing R.A. Hermes, Inc. properties
as well as the repairs and maintenance on each site. In 1999, Erik resigned his position with R.A. Hermes Inc.
to pursue more development opportunities through Hermes Construction Co. From 1999 to 2002, Hermes Construction was appointed
a Butler buildership for Butler Manufacturing, developed All-Climate EZ Stor, a 90,000 s.f. multi-tenant building converted
from a 1950’s factory building, completed projects for Deer Park / Silverton Fire Department, Automotive Service Products,
Procter & Gamble, the city of Lebanon, Newport Storage Solutions, Mini-Storage USA, Oakley Storage, and founded Crown
Storage Walton. During this time, Tim Mullins joined Hermes Construction Co. as a field supervisor. Erik and his
wife, Melissa, have four children and reside in Cold Spring, KY.
Since 2005, Erik served as President of the Business Network International (BNI) Campbell County Chapter and is presently
a BNI Ambassador & MVrP. He has been involved with various fund raisers that have benefited organizations such as;
the Brighton Center, 4-H, and the Northern Kentucky Youth Foundation. In addition, Erik is a member of St. Philip Church
parish council.
Tyson HermesLike Erik, Tyson also began in the construction industry as a laborer for his father’s company R.A Hermes,
Inc. In 1989, Tyson began working on an expansion to Delhi Storage (Building I). Tyson continued to work as a
laborer through high school and part of college. During college Tyson co-oped first with PRO2E, performing ductwork design,
equipment sizing, lighting layouts, and manual drafting. Next he co-oped for the City of Covington Engineer’s
Office, where he first began to work with AutoCAD, designing and overseeing construction on urban renewal projects. Lastly
he co-oped for Pilot Building Contractors, where he worked as a project manager for construction projects. In
1995 Tyson received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Cincinnati in Architectural Engineering. In
1996 Tyson received a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, and an Associates degree in Civil Engineering. From
1996-1999 Tyson continued to work as a project manager for Pilot Building Contractors, and completed projects with Champion
Steel, Holt-Cat Rental Services, Sabatasso Foods, Johnson Controls, Children’s Psychiatric Hospital, Delta Airlines,
Comair, and the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport Board. From 1999-2003 Tyson worked as a pre-construction
manager for Duke Construction, and completed the 636,000 square foot Liz Claiborne distribution facility (with 254,000 s.f.
of interior mezzanines - totaling almost 900,000 usable square feet), a 35,000 s.f. Linens-N-Things store, a 32,000 s.f. school
for ITT Technical Institute in Orlando, FL, an addition onto a Dick’s Sporting Goods store, and almost 500,000 square
feet of other speculative warehouses and office buildings for Duke Realty. In 2003, Tyson joined Hermes Construction
Company as Vice President. Tyson and his wife, Julie, have three children and reside in Erlanger, KY.
Since 2005 Tyson has served on the Bioethics Committee for Cincinnati
Children’s Hospital. In August 2006, he was assigned to the task force responsible for the development of a new Pediatric
Ethics Center, and is currently serving on a Search Committee to hire a Director. In addition, Tyson was the chairman
for the 2008 Covington Latin School Academic Advancement Fund, and is currently the chair for the St. Henry Parish Building
& Maintenance Committee. Tim MullinsTim has worked in the construction industry since high school in 1976. Tim
is an accomplished welder, carpenter, craftsman and leader. Tim joined Hermes Construction Co. in 2001 as a full
time site supervisor. He has become a dedicated and valued member of Hermes Construction Co. Tim’s professional
approach to construction management has earned the respect of Hermes Construction sub-contractors and vendors.
Tim and his wife, Mary, have three children and reside in Brooksville, KY. Nick FigginsNick,
the newest member of Hermes Construction, joined the team in March of 2008 as a Co-op Student through Northern Kentucky University.
Nick completed his final two semesters at NKU while working with Hermes Construction. He graduated in May of 2009 with a Bachelor
of Science Degree in Construction Management, and an Associates Degree in Construction Technology. Nick has continued
to develop into a reliable asset of Hermes Construction Company.
Together, Erik, Tyson, Tim and Nick have expanded the range of services and products
